Why is it that when that someone you have a thing for seems out of reach it's so much more appealing than if they fawned all over you?  Maybe it's the thrill of the hunt.  And seeing if you still got it (I don't know about you, but I lost mine).  In any case, Freud would have a field day, no doubt.  But one thing that's even more appealing when it's in hand -- or, rather, on neck -- is this simple strand of turquoise jade rounds with 22k gold plated bars.
